Supplier Diversity Program

Empowering Our Communities

As a leading U.S. insurer, we understand we have a role to play in operating ethically to address economic inequality within diverse communities. We are dedicated to growing our diverse supplier spend and have released our first Supplier Diversity Economic Impact Report to demonstrate our commitment.

Diverse Suppliers Encouraged to Register

The Hartford is committed to working with certified diverse suppliers that support our long-term growth and add value to our company. We encourage diverse suppliers to register through The Hartford’s onboarding portal. After registering, we will notify you by email that your submission is in our supplier diversity database where our procurement professionals can consider you for future opportunities.

What to Expect by Registering

Registering as a diverse supplier does not constitute approval of your business as a supplier or obligate The Hartford to solicit a quotation or include your business in requests for proposals. Registering allows The Hartford to learn about the capabilities of your business and confirm your qualifications as a diverse supplier.

Tier II Supplier Diversity

The Hartford supports Tier II supplier diversity spending, which includes subcontractors providing goods or services to Tier I or primary suppliers of The Hartford. Tier II also includes indirect spending, such as prorated contracted spending with diverse suppliers based on supplier sales or a percentage of a supplier's total revenue.

The Hartford’s Vendor Code of Ethics and Business Conduct outlines the ethical behavior and responsible business practices we expect our suppliers to uphold.
